Two years ago…. it was. My days would go by slowly, without a single thread of a message or a beep on my phone. Days would become weeks, and weeks would become months. I wondered….what was I doing wrong? Not even a single interview, are you kidding me? Zero dollars in my account. To top that off employers creating paradoxes on their job listings by saying they want experience for most minimum wage jobs, but how can I get experience if no one is hiring? But to cut to the chase of how I got a job, my sister worked at retail store and by using her as a reference, I believe I got the job after the interview. But what if you don’t have any references? Well, to increase your chance of a first job you might have to lower your standards a bit and look for smaller jobs, tidy up your resume, and practice interviewing with your friends or family. Why? Because you’ll be surprised at how you really come off to other people. And you’ll be able to correct those mistakes.
I have been off work for a while. A month in fact. Time goes by so much slower compared to when I worked. A month jobless feels like forever because I have so much more time. A month when I had a job felt like it would go by in a blink of the eye, very fast. I think when you have something to actually do, time goes fast. I began programming in the past few days, and time would actually fly by as fast as when I had a job. This is just how things work I guess. But do I miss a job? Heck no haha.
